“An Assessment of Tree Valuation Systems” & “Determining Risk Thresholds for Arborists and Urban Foresters”
Arboriculture Australia Annual Meeting, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia
The session on valuation will compare and contrast numerous methods in use and will include discussions on the Helliwell, Council of Tree and Landscape Appraisers (CTLA), Sydney and Melbourne methods, among others.
Determining risk thresholds are a key component of the risk management profession, yet it is a concept poorly understood within the tree profession. Without this understanding our approach to risk is driven by a poorly informed dialogue perpetuated by litigation and an over emphasis on the few tree-related events that occur. This session will provide agencies with tools for determining risk thresholds that reinforce program choices. http://www.arboriculture.org.au/
