Tree-related risk takes on several forms for a tree-care company, organizations or agencies that manage systems of trees. These can be categorized into four types of risk: harm, fiscal loss, loss of credibility and loss of productivity. While the industry tends to focus, understandably, on managing the risk of harm, a comprehensive risk management plan addresses the interrelatedness of all four risk types. This webinar is focused on identifying, analyzing, and addressing the risk to staff attributed to tree-related operations.
TOPICS TO BE COVERED
The full course will include discussions on the following topics:
- The International Standards Organization’s ISO 31000 – Risk Management Guidelines as it applies to operational risk.
- How tools in the International Standards Organization’s ISO 31010 – Risk Assessment Techniques guidance document provides methods for assessing operational risk exposure.
- A review of Qualitative and Quantitative methods for assessing operational tree risk exposure.
- Developing a team approach with staff for assessing potential future operational risks.
- Assessment of tree-related events to refine operational safety.
- Use of the OSHA 300, 300A, 301 forms to assess individual events and summarize annual events.
- Forms for assessing past events.
- Refinements to staff safety guidance.
COURSE SCHEDULE
The course will be offered in two modules on consecutive Tuesdays in April at a fee of ninety dollars ($90 US). The schedule for the two, 2 – hour modules are:
- Module 1 (April 20th) – Analyzing Operational Risk Exposure
- Module 2 (April 27th) – Qualitative and Quantitative Methods of Assessment
To accommodate different time zones and international colleagues, each module will be provided twice daily according to the schedule below:
- Module A – 13:00 (EDT) (GMT -4)
- Module B – 19:00 (EDT) (GMT -4)
LECTURE DETAILS
Participants will have access to the two modules, webinar materials, and a certificate of participation. Four (4) International Society of Arboriculture CEU’s are assigned to this course.
